It was a pleasure to read your recent article on "Insight - How much is too much?" I agree with your assessment on paramedic skill retention and the total patient care concept. I am presently a Fire Department Shift Commander for two fire stations and also work a second job as an EMS Supervisor for a Connecticut based ALS Paramedic Service.

Although I enjoy the strategy and tactics of the fire scene and EMS management issues, patient care issues are paramount. I work to maintain proficiency and surpass the minimum standards of prehospital emergency care. This can be difficult at times but it can be accomplished. I hope you continue to succeed in your endeavors and applaud your accomplishments.
