Ambulance Crash Log

Suspected of being high, man hits ambulance in Bethlehem - Pennsylvania

Bethlehem police said a car crashed into a parked ambulance Saturday night and that the driver was under the influence of marijuana.

The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. when the ambulance was parked in a city lot in the 500 block of Stefko Boulevard.

Police said when Edwin Quinones, 32, hit the unoccupied ambulance, the crew members came out and attended to his injuries.

Despite major damage to Quinone's car and the ambulance, police said, Quinones repeatedly told officers he wasn't involved in a crash.

Quinones had a ''golf ball''-size bag of marijuana in his front sweatshirt pocket, police said.

Quinones and his passenger, who was not identified, had cuts and bruises on their faces and were taken to St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill.

Quinones is charged with driving under the influence, possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving without a license, failing to wear a seat belt and an accidents involving personal injury
