Rowan student faces assault, drinking charges in attack on EMT -New Jersey
A Rowan University student was arrested on underage drinking charges and assault of an EMT and nurse who were attempting to treat him, according to authorities.
Glassboro police were called to the intersection of Main and West streets early Saturday morning after receiving reports of a man lying down in a parking lot.
Authorities encountered David I. Mullan, of Atco, who attempted to flee on foot. Police were able to apprehend Mullan after only a short pursuit and recommend he be taken to JFK Hospital in Washington Township due to his extreme level of intoxication.
Mullan is accused of assaulting an EMT worker at the scene and police said while at the hospital he had to be restrained after attacking a nurse.
He was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice and underage consumption of alcohol.
