Contact Congress about Extensions of Medicare Ambulance Relief

TO:          All Ambulance Service Professionals

FROM:    Jim Finger, AAA President

RE:          Contact Congress about Extensions of Medicare Ambulance Relief

The time is now for you to write to your members of Congress regarding extensions of Medicare ambulance relief in final health care reform legislation!

To access the AAA online letter writing system, go to: http://capwiz.com/the-aaa/issues/alert/?alertid=13387251

Please ask your members of Congress to help ensure that two-year extensions of Medicare relief for urban, rural and super rural ambulance service providers are included in the final health care reform package.  The House bill, the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962), contains a two-year extension of the 2% urban and 3% rural ambulance increases but not an extension of the super rural bonus payment.  Whereas the Senate bill, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590), contains an extension for the super rural bonus payment as well as the 2% urban and 3% rural ambulance increases but for only one year.  House and Senate negotiators plan to have a final bill developed in the next few weeks.  There is no guarantee that any extensions of Medicare ambulance relief will be included in the final package, so please write to your members of Congress today!
