Charged with attacking EMT - New Jersey

A Jersey City man too drunk to walk was arrested Monday morning after spitting at and kicking an EMT, officials said.

Calixto Hernandez, 52, of Palisade Avenue near Waverly Street, was charged with aggravated assault on an EMT, reports said. Police also found there is a federal order for his deportation, reports said.

Responding to a call of a dispute, cops found Hernandez trying to get into his car, reports said, adding that he was very intoxicated, unable to stand and his speech was "extremely slurred."

The officers tried to help Hernandez and when an ambulance arrived, Hernandez became belligerent and kicked an EMT in the stomach and spit at him, reports said
