Ambulance Crash Log

St. Kitts ambulance crashes en route to emergency scene - Wisconsin

At about 3:10 yesterday afternoon (June 12), several groups of people converged on Cayon Street after an ambulance collided with a car on its way to an emergency scene.

SKNVibes spoke to an eyewitness who informed that a Lexus car (PA6309) was travelling eastbound along Cayon Street and was about to take a right turn into Prickly Pear Alley when the incident occurred.

The unconfirmed report further indicates that the oncoming Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicle crashed into the car. As a result of the collision, the ambulance got a flat tyre and the driver fought to control the vehicle as it wobbled along the road before coming to a halt.

The eyewitness however stated that the collision did not prevent the EMS staff from executing their duties, as they immediately removed some equipment from the ambulance and headed by foot north up Market Street to respond to the emergency.

“It happened so quickly! After hitting the car, the ambulance tyre burst and it just slowed down and stopped. But, I saw like the people [EMS staff] grab some equipment and run up Market Street to where they were going,” the eyewitness recalled.

There were no injuries or fatalities, but the accident caused traffic to be backed up for over an hour.

Police officials arrived on the scene some 30 minutes after and began investigations into the cause of the accident. Officials from the Traffic Department informed that investigations would be ongoing.
