Four injured after ambulance hits car in Brockton - Massachusetts
Four people were sent to the hospital after an ambulance responding to an emergency call collided with a Toyota Camry at North Montello and Elliott streets this afternoon, fire officials said.
The victims’ names, ages, addresses, or conditions were not immediately released following the 4:08 p.m. crash.
All four victims were taken by ambulance to Brockton Hospital, said Fire Deputy Chief Michael Williams, who said he does not believe the victims’ injuries were life-threatening.
The ambulance, traveling south on North Montello Street, was responding to a medical emergency call on Twelfth Avenue on the city’s south side when the crash happened, said Williams, who responded to the scene.
Fire Lt. John McDonald, who also responded, said he did not know if the ambulance flashers were on at the time of the crash.
The injured included a man and woman in the Toyota Camry, and two male emergency personnel in the ambulance.
Both the car and the ambulance suffered front-end damage.
Brockton police are investigating the crash.
