Ambulance Involved In Knox County Crash - Kentucky
EMTs in Knox County were called to the scene of a head-on crash Monday night involving one of their own ambulances.
The accident happened around nine p.m. along Kentucky 11, just outside Barbourville. The Sheriff's Department told LEX 18, the ambulance was on its way to the Knox County Hospital with one patient and three EMTs on board. Deputies said an oncoming driver lost control on the slick roads, causing the car to cross the center line and hit the ambulance head-on.
The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries, while the three EMTs were treated and released. The Sheriff's Department says the patient aboard the ambulance was flown to UK Hospital, but not for issues related to the accident.
