Awards-Honors

Ron Haussecker Receives Statewide Award - Brenham Texas

Former Washington County EMS Executive Director Ron Haussecker, EMT-P, has been honored by the Texas Ambulance Association.

Haussecker received the organization’s first “Outstanding Achievement Award” at the group’s annual conference at South Padre Island in April.

Presenting the award was TAA President Dave Taylor.  Haussecker is a member of TAA and served on the board of directors for over 16 years.

Taylor said Haussecker was being honored for “years of extraordinary service and dedication” to the EMS profession.

Haussecker was also the recipient of the TAA’s Joe Brown Humanitarian Award in 1999.

The founding director of Washington County EMS (and the former Brenham-Washington County EMS), Haussecker served in that capacity from 1979 to 2005.  Under his direction, the local EMS was the first Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) level service in the Brazos Valley.  He also created the service’s paramedic and EMT training program. He has personally trained almost 1,000 EMS personnel during his career.
