Ambulance Crash Injures Six People - New York
Five people were seriously injured today when an ambulance and a car collided in Manhattan.
The accident occurred on Houston Street and Avenue C shortly before noon.
Witnesses say a motorist did not hear the ambulances siren and crossed in its path.
Two pedestrians are among those injured.
"The ambulance came up on top of the sidewalk," said one witness. "The ambulance also hit two people who were waiting to cross the street.
A sixth person was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
There is no word on whether any charges will be filed.
