Description: ITT Communications Systems (CS), Fort Wayne, Indiana

The part-time Security Officer/EMT provides services for occupational and non-occupational injury and illness case management including incident investigation and Emergency Medical Technician services. This position also validates entry and exit of all employees, visitors, and vendors to ITT CS facilities. Additional duties include but are not limited to direction of vehicle traffic, inspection of property for U.S. Government classified material, prohibited items, and loss prevention. This position also will serve as a roving security officer to provide coverage, patrol and response for all Fort Wayne, Indiana ITT buildings, and to respond to any emergency situations at any location.

The Security Officer/EMT will also enforce and/or administer ITT CS policies and procedures relating to security, loss prevention, visitor reception and emergency actions. Enforce U.S. Government requirements for the Department of Defense National Industrial Security Program. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable Regulatory Requirements through training and research.

This is a part-time position of at least 24 or more hours per week. The Security Guard will work a rotating shift with variable working hours.

Experience: Education, Experience and Knowledge Requirements:

* High School Diploma. Associate or Bachelor Degree desirable.

* One year related experience with proven ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures, to react responsibly in stressful situations, to communicate clearly and logically both verbally and in writing, and an ability to interact with all levels of people in a tactful and diplomatic manner to obtain compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures.

* Knowledgeable of policies and procedures relating to Loss Prevention and basic security requirements; basic microcomputer operations; policies and requirements of the Industrial Security Manual for Safeguarding Classified information and fire protection systems and intrusion detection alarm systems helpful and desirable.

* Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for U.S. Government security clearance. A Secret security clearance is required after employment.

* Closely related individuals of ITT employees are not eligible.

* Must successfully complete written placement exams.
