Ambulance Crash Log

Ambulance transporting infant crashes - Fresno County, California

An ambulance carrying a sick baby crashes on the way to the hospital Thursday afternoon.

Emergency workers were called to a home in Fresno County for a baby that wasn’t breathing. Workers started CPR in the ambulance as the driver headed for the emergency room. The ambulance had its lights and siren activated. Still, as it headed into the intersection at Jensen Avenue and  Fowler, a car crashed into it.

The driver of the car had a green light and didn't see the ambulance coming. The paramedic tried to slow down as he approached the intersection, but the roads were wet from rain. Investigators don't believe the crash impacted efforts to save the baby. No word yet on the baby's condition.
