Ambulance Crash Log

4 injured when ambulance hits firetruck - Butler, Pennsylvania

State police say an ambulance struck a firetruck in Butler County, resulting in minor injuries to four people, including a patient in the ambulance.

Police say the firetruck had stopped for a school bus along state Route 68 in Summit Township on Thursday afternoon. The ambulance was on its way to Butler Memorial Hospital when it hit the firetruck.

Police say a female firefighter, two paramedics and the patient had minor injuries.

The two emergency departments involved in the accident were the Petrolia Volunteer Fire & Relief Association and the Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Company.

Both vehicles had major damage. Police say the driver of the ambulance has been cited.

Route 68 was closed to traffic while officials investigated the scene. It has since reopened.
