D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Alan Etter said the ambulance had just left Howard University Hospital, and did not have a patient inside. The crash happened at 9th and U streets, Northwest. Etter said the ambulance was heavily damaged and the SUV has damage to the passenger side. The firefighters and the SUV driver are all hospitalized with what Etter called non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation. |
