Ambulance Crash Log
Paramedic and driver suffer minor injures in crash - Cleveland, Ohio
Oct 27, 2004, 09:19
Four people, including an Emergency Medical Services driver and a paramedic, were injured Tuesday morning when an ambulance responding to an emergency was hit, after which it struck a building.
None of the injuries was serious, said police spokesman Lt. Wayne Drummond.
The ambulance was headed south on East 93rd Street near Union Avenue when it was clipped in the rear by a car that drove through the intersection. The ambulance's lights were flashing and its sirens blaring, but the car had a green light, Drummond said.
The ambulance spun counter-clockwise and was hit by a third vehicle, which shoved it into a building. The paramedic, the EMS driver and the other two drivers were treated at MetroHealth Medical Center.
The crash is under investigation.
