Dump Truck Hits Ambulance - Pennsylvania
Three people were injured after an ambulance on its way to a call was broadsided
Friday morning in Harrisburg.
It happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. at the 13th Street exit
off Interstate 83 north.
Police said the driver of a dump truck had the green light and turned
north off the ramp onto 13th Street when he crashed into the ambulance, which
was heading south.
The emergency vehicle then spun out of control, hitting two other
vehicles.
"I guess he didn't see the lights or hear the siren, but I heard the
siren and he hit it broadside and it flipped up in the air twice, landed in the
middle of the intersection and spinned out going toward the north ramp,"
accident victim Jeronzie Brown said.
The driver and passenger of the ambulance were taken to a hospital along
with the driver of another vehicle. There is no word on their conditions.
There were no patients in the ambulance when it was hit.
