A paramedic from the Chatham-Kent (Ontario, Canada) area was killed in the line of duty after a crash this morning.
The single-vehicle accident occurred around 1000 hours near Blenheim when the paramedic was responding to another crash. The EMS vehicle rolled over and the paramedic was thrown from the vehicle. EMS crews took the paramedic to the hospital where he later died.
Investigators are trying to determine how fast the vehicle was going, and if the paramedic was wearing a seatbelt. The original accident that the paramedic was responding to when he rolled his vehicle did not involve life-threatening injuries.
