Extraordinary state-of-the-art emergency training facility - Montreal, Canada

HyperTec BCDR is proud to announce the launch of its extraordinary state-of-the-art 500,000 square-foot emergency management/homeland security training, operations and command-and-control centre of excellence.

“Each time an invited guest comes to visit the Centre, they are overwhelmed by the training and operational possibilities that present themselves in our facility,” said Georges Cowan, Senior Vice President of Business Development. “Imagine a secure location where you can conduct full field exercises indoor in real-world conditions without any interference from the outside world – while monitoring the exercises in one of ten EOCs located on-site.”

There are multiple full-media conference rooms, break-out discussion areas, a full suite of cyber-equipped classrooms and a 150-seat forum room.

“We are proud to be working with Penn State Fayette’s Center for Community and Public Safety to offer customizable educational offerings for the emergency management, firefighting, EMS, law enforcement and homeland security communities,” said Hal Newman, Senior Consultant, BCDR Centre of Excellence.

In a facility that even has its own full-sized gym and work-out area, no one seems surprised there is an athletic therapist with experience at the Olympic level. The idea, according to Mr. Newman, is to treat emergency response personnel as if they were elite athletes.

The Centre of Excellence is located on a 30-acre site in the western part of Montreal, is readily accessible by several major highways and sits only a 10-minute drive away from Trudeau International Airport. Driving distances:
70 miles from Plattsburgh NY, 105 miles from Burlington VT, 225 miles from Albany NY, 245 miles from Syracuse NY, 320 miles from Boston MA, and 375 miles from NYC.

If you are interested in arranging for a visit, a walking tour and a
wide-ranging discussion on how the HyperTec BCDR Centre of Excellence mightbecome a full-service training or command & control destination for your organization, please contact Hal Newman at 514 745-4540 ext 5769 or via
email at hnewman@tems.ca

The HyperTec BCDR Centre of Excellence features:

>Ten 80-seat Emergency Operations Centers [EOCs] - fully equipped with computers, telephone systems, multi-function printers and in-room
server/comm racks;

>Eight classrooms and a 150-seat meeting room [including dedicated and adjoining areas where practical sessions may be conducted];

>Several private conference rooms with multi-media capability;

>A 50,000-square foot indoor reconfigurable field exercise or focused drill area designed to simulate a warehouse or multiple obstacle/hazard
environment;

>A 70,000-square foot field exercise or focused drill area completely
furnished and designed to simulate an office or educational environment;

>An 800-seat cafeteria and dining facility;

>An eleven-bay loading dock with one drive-in ramp equipped with a 25-foot high door that may be used to house emergency and/or specialized vehicles;

producing a total of more than 17 megawatts of electricity.
