Ambulance crash kills Santa Ana patient - California
An 87-year-old Santa Ana man died Thursday after the
ambulance in which he was being transported collided with a car in Fountain
Valley.
Police did not release his name.
The accident occurred
about 5:15 p.m. as the ambulance drove through the intersection of Magnolia
Street and Slater Avenue, said Lt. Mike Simko, a spokesman for the Fountain
Valley Police Department. Simko described the trip as a "routine medical
transport," though he could not say where the ambulance was headed.
The
man was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died, Simko
said.
