The crew on an ambulance had needed some emergency help after a close encounter with a bear in Carbon County.

Police say the driver of an ambulance had to swerve to avoid a bear on Lentz Trail near Jim Thorpe. The ambulance crashed into a utility pole and rolled over

Neither of the paramedics on board was hurt.

Lantz Trail was closed for several hours while crews cleared the scene.
