An ambulance headed to a crash was involved in a collision Saturday that left two people hospitalized, including a paramedic, police said.

The American Medical Response ambulance was headed to a rollover crash in the 4300 block of Kenowa Avenue SW at 11:15 a.m. when it collided with a vehicle on 44th Street SW, near Int. 196, police said. The paramedic, whose name was not released, was pinned in the ambulance until firefighters pulled her free.

She was taken by another AMR ambulance to Saint Mary's Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, AMR officials said. She was expected to be released.

A victim in the other vehicle was taken by ambulance to Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus and was to be released.
